Our Top 10 features of the Winter’21 ❄️ release
The new Salesforce Winter’ 21 release ❄️ is coming soon, and as usual we’ve selected a top 10 new 🆕 features for you.
Before getting to the matter, here are the dates to remember about the Winter’21 version:
→ The sandbox preview has already started on 📅 11/12 September
→ The official production release date is scheduled to 📅 16/17 October
1 — View deals changes in the Kanban 🧐
With the Winter’ 21 release you will be able to quickly visualize opportunity changes 📈 made on the amount 💸 or on the close date 📅.
2 — Auto add new fields to custom report types 📊
In Winter’21 ❄️ it will be possible to auto-add new custom fields to custom report types 📊 by activating the following option in Setup → Report and Dashboard User Interface Settings → Auto add new custom fields to custom report type layouts ✔️
3 — Dynamic Forms & Actions
Dynamic forms are now available in GA ✅ (only available for custom objects)
Dynamic actions are now available in GA ✅ for custom objects and in Beta for standard objects : Account, Case, Contact, Opportunity
4 — Lightning Flow 🔀
The Winter’ 21 release is no exception to the rule cause it brings a lot of new Lightning Flows features 🔀
The Flow Builder will support a new creation mode called “Auto-Layout” which will organize the flow elements automatically 🌟
Flows can now be triggered when deleting 🗑️ a record and you will be able debug 🐞 your flow visually in the Flow Builder

5 — Interactive Email Builder ✉️
Users will be able to use the brand new Email Template Builder 🏗️ to edit their Lightning email templates with an interactive interface and a simple drag and drop.
6 —In-App Guidance 🗨️
With the Winter’ 21 release, it will now be possible to display In-App Guidance 🗨️ on the creation/modification/clone record screens, another new feature is the ability to customize the colors 🌈 of the guides.
7 — Einstein Search 🔍
Salesforce continue to improve the Einstein Search functionality, Personalized search option become GA ✅, search becomes available for “Professional” editions, and natural search option is getting smarter 🧠
8 — Tips to optimize Lightning page performance 💡
The Lightning App Builder will now display recommendations to improve the Lightning pages performance 💨.
9 — Manage Deleted Fields in Lighting Experience 🗑️
It will now be possible to manage the deleted fields 🗑️ on Lightning Experience without having to switch 🔄 to the Salesforce classic interface.
10 — New Features in Apex ⚙️
In this new release we are getting some interesting new features in the Apex language ⚙️ , such as the brand new Safe Navigator operator that will allow you to access nested values without worrying about the “NullPointerException” error 🚫
It will also now be possible to use the PATCH method for Apex Callouts🤙 and to create custom notifications 🔔 (for more details see the Apex release note 📜)
